Speaker elect Bierman reminded Senators to RSVP for the Joint meeting with the UT Faculty Council.  The theme will be Diversity and Inclusion, and the event will be held at the Clayton Williams Jr.  Alumni Center on March 7.  Regent Mahomes will be the luncheon speaker.
Senator Heim observed that the new purchasing system, BAM, was painful to use.  There are long processing times, confusion on the codes, and is very unclear.  He asked that this should be investigated.  Senator Daugherity pointed out that this was a System decision and that our administration is encouraging purchases under $10, 000 at the University be made on procards, rather than through BAM.
Senator Carlson congratulated the Senate for addressing important issues on campus.
Speaker Strawser formed a committee on unsponsored research, to be differentiated from CPI.
