CALL TO ORDER
Speaker Elect Tracy Hammond called the second meeting of the 40th session to order at 3:08pm.   Due to ongoing social distancing practices resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic, the meeting was conducted via Zoom.
 
Speaker-Elect Hammond will be monitoring the raised hand function and will monitor the chat.  Registration function is being used to track attendance.
 
GUEST SPEAKERS
 
Greg Hartman, Senior Vice President and Chief Operations Officer for the University and Damon Slaydon, Vice President for Human Resources and Organizational Effectiveness.  Alan Sams, Vice President for Operational Innovation also joined to answer questions
 
Update and Q&A on the Path Forward with considerable staff realignment and other issues such as benefits.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Senator Matthew Sachs submitted the 2022 report and it was uploaded to the agenda.  All other items on the meeting minutes from the June 13, 2022, meeting was approved as presented.  Attachment B – FS.40.017 Approved

The motion passed to approve the June 13, 2022; Consent Agenda as Approved.

Core Curriculum Council Course Report –
Nothing to report. 
ITEMS OF BUSINESS
Degree Candidate – Secretary Janice Epstein, moved to approve the number of candidates receiving degrees, including bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees.   Speaker Elect – Tracy Hammond launched a poll which was unanimous therefore, it was approved.  Attachment D1 FS.40.040 Approved
Bylaw changes – Core Curriculum, Speaker Elect Hammond launched a poll which was unanimous and therefore, was approved. Attachment D2 FS.40.041 Approved

Speaker Rice thanked the committees for their time and effort.  He also mentioned that the Executive Committee would be preparing the new charges for the coming academic year which will be presented in September.
 
COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE
Speaker-Elect Tracy Hammond asked if there were any positive actions or items of concern that are occurring on campus related to diversity, equity and inclusion.
GENERAL TOPICS
Senator Robert Carpenter brought up the topic of economic strain and inflation on staff and graduate students in regard to childcare. 
Vice President for Faculty Affairs, N.K. Anand discussed the launch of the SS Plus Program which would recruit senior level faculty from underrepresented minority groups.

Speaker Rice motioned to Adjourn the meeting at 5:07pm.
