On the transition to Workday (December 2017)
- Update on Workday—Launch is still set for December 1, 2017
- The questions that guide their discussions now are:
- Is it going to work?
- What needs to happen in order for it to work for us?
- Questions from Senators
- Price (ENGL): Will the log on still be through SSO? Yes
- Miller (CLA): Are Staff people the primary interface between faculty and the system? Yes
- Chapan (GEOS) commented on the administrative labor involved; there will be a delegation tool to use.

- Provost Search Committee is up and running; in the middle of taking resumes; deadline is February 15th
- Trez Jones has been asked to serve as Parliamentarian.
- Travel Ban-controversial
- University administration has been working closely with other units to help people affected by the travel ban

- A&M might be faring better than others
- Concerns- but it looks like we might come out okay
- Reminder that the March meeting is scheduled for Monday, March 20th (changed due to spring break) in MSC 2300A. Dr. Carrie Byington (new vice chancellor) has been invited to address the Senate and discuss her goals for the HSC at this meeting.
- The Faculty Senate constitution was distributed for voting this morning. Please encourage your faculty to take a second to vote.
- We’ll be taking donations for the Aggie Spirit Award at the March meeting. Please consider donating to the students who have displayed outstanding courage and determination in the face of adversity while attending Texas A&M. If you would like to donate, but will miss the March meeting, you can take donations to the Dean of Faculties office in the YMCA building between now April 21st.
- We are beginning the elections process. If you are unsure if your term is expiring, please contact Kelly Drake in the Faculty Senate Office. Additionally, now is the time to start encouraging other faculty members within your college to consider running for the Senate or other university committees.
