Speaker Comments
Time between our December and January has not been our typical quiet period over the holidays. President Banks issued her decision on which of the MGT Recommendations she would accept. The paths that she has chosen will transform our university in ways we could not imagine. It is critical that faculty be active in as many of those groups as possible to provide input and to help ensure that the transition is as smooth as possible.COVID and what it means for the upcoming semester. Many faculty were anxious and concerned about returning to face-to-face instruction with no mandates for masks or social-distancing in place. Many wished instruction would be online.
COVID related questions and concerns were raised by the following: Senator Andrew Klein read comments from private chat. Senator Adam Kolasinski, Catharina Laporte, Senator Raymundo Arroyave, Senator Maria Irene Moyna, Senator Debjyoti Banerjee, Senator Olbelina Ulloa, Senator Robert Carpenter, Senator Daniel Collins, Senator Leslie Winemiller, Speaker Dale Rice, Senator Rajesh Miranda, Dr. Patrick Louchouarn, Interim Provost for Faculty Affairs and Interdisciplinary Initiatives. Senator Farzan Sasangohar, Senator Mark Sicilio,
Maroon Line Clinic run by the Health Science Center will have a pop up for new vaccinations and boosters.
Tim Scott, Interim Provost, was present to answer questions.
